Help the Master Gardener Foundation meet our 2024 goal!
The Master Gardener Foundation of Chelan-Douglas Counties is pleased to announce that we are participating in the Community Foundation’s Give NCW campaign this year. This annual event gives the community an opportunity to donate to one or many non-profit organizations from Thanksgiving to December 31.
- Visit GiveNCW (website becomes live on Thanksgiving day).
- Scroll or search for “Master Gardener Foundation of Chelan-Douglas Counties” or other organization you want to support.
- Click or tap on the Donate button.
- Enter the amount and Continue Giving until you are ready to check out.
- 100% of your donation goes straight to the organization(s) you support, the Community Foundation even takes care of the credit card fees. (Donor can choose to pay the CC fees.)
- You’ll receive a tax receipt from the Community Foundation and the Foundation will send
your giving information on to the organization (unless you choose to be anonymous). - Give on a Funday Monday and you’ll be entered to win $1,000 to use on Give NCW any
way you choose! The Community Foundation
will draw 5 winners each week. - “Give to All” donations are distributed equally among all non-profits that have received at least $1,000 in donations.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization registered in Washington State. And like all non-profits, we could use your financial assistance. If you believe in what we are doing, please help us make a greater impact across Chelan and Douglas Counties with a cash donation. Your donations help us grow.
Foundation executives must make tough decisions about which programs get funded and how much they receive. Your donation allows us to do more. The Master Gardener Program infrastructure is supported by Washington State University Extension. Your donation funds projects, gardens, and educational opportunities.
In each year, there are changing needs and new requests for funding but on average, here is how your money is allocated in Chelan and Douglas Counties:
- Demonstration Gardens. We fund many programs at our demonstration gardens including Youth Outreach, Answer Clinics, and numerous free educational courses.
- Plant Sale Preparation. Hosting the plant sale has its own expenses, and there are costs associated with transplanting and growing plants from seed, the ‘inventory’ of the plant sale.
- Community Gardens. Everyday expenses and upkeep associated within our numerous community gardens.
- Plant Diagnostic Clinics. We answer your questions, free, in our plant clinics. To do that, we have expenses associated with tools such as microscopes, and acquiring reference material, as well as printing costs for the information we provide.
- Everything Else. Miscellaneous expenses associated with our Speakers’ Bureau program, volunteer recognition programs and the day-to-day expenses of running a volunteer organization.
